Jeff Greene

Jeff has more than 20 years’ legal experience leading banking, finance, capital markets and M&A transactions. He has practised in the U.S., China & Middle East (at large international law firms as well as regional & local firms), and has led cross-border deals in a multitude of jurisdictions. Jeff practised law for more than 10 years in Seattle, Washington (USA), where he was named a “Rising Star” by Washington Law & Politics magazine every year from 2002-2006. More recently, he was the only lawyer in Oman to be named “Commended External Counsel” by Asian-Mena Counsel Magazine for 2020; and a “Recommended Lawyer” for Oman corporate, commercial and M&A matters in the 2018 and 2019 Legal 500 league tables (Europe, Middle East & Africa). Jeff was previously a Corporate Partner in the Shanghai and Seattle offices of DLA Piper US/UK LLP, where he was part of a dynamic three-partner team that lead DLA’s charge into China’s VC markets up to and during the Great Financial Crisis for venture capital, private equity and capital markets transactions, including leading the US advisory side of the US$500 million dual listings of China Central Properties (distressed real estate assets) on the AIM and HK exchange. Before making his way to Oman, Jeff spent 5 years practising in Kuwait, for the largest and only IFLR Tier 1 Firm in the State, where he worked on such noteworthy Islamic finance transactions as the restructuring of the Investment Dar, and restructuring of AAyan & Global Investments. He was a lead counsel to the syndicate of lenders in Kuwait’s US1.2Billion conversion of the Al Azour South Power Plant. In Oman, he represented Oman Arab Bank in its spin-out of investment bank, Ubhar Capital; and advised ASAAS on development of the Crew Reporting and Flight Simulator facilities for Oman Air. Jeff is a prolific writer and speaker, and has been the keynote speaker, co-presenter or moderator of more than 50 seminars, workshops, and conferences worldwide. Jeff was the Managing Editor & a Co-Author of “The Mergers & Acquisitions Handbook – A Guide to Negotiated Transactions” (DLA Piper & Bowne – First Edition 2007). In 2020, he published “Omani Corporate Governance…Everything You Need to Know,” the only comprehensive guide on Omani corporate governance.
